Louie the Dobermann

I sketched Louie’s memorial portrait with soft pastels and pastel pencils on a dark grey velour sheet. It was meant to be a simple sketch, but because the reference photo was so perfectly clear I simply couldn’t resist adding slightly more detail… 🙂 The reference photo did not have a detailed background, but my client requested either a sea or forest view. I decided to paint a seascape with lighter tones that really allow Louie to shine.
